Dr. Todd Geisler

Dr. Geisler grew up in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He earned his BA in Biology from St. Olaf College, followed by his D.D.S. from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1996. After practicing general dentistry for nine years, he pursued his endodontics certificate at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, completing the program in 2008.

Dr. Geisler enjoys both clinical and academic pursuits. During his residency, he received a grant from the AAE Foundation for his research in regenerative endodontics. He has authored and co-authored multiple publications in the Journal of Endodontics and Dental Clinics of North America, and has lectured on Regenerative Endodontic Procedures at several AAE Annual Sessions.

Dr. Geisler has been the owner of Edina Endodontics since its inception, which this year has undergone a name change but is committed to delivering the same high-quality endodontic solutions with precision and integrity. United Endodontics remains proudly doctor-owned.

Dr. Geisler resides in Edina with his wife Jules and their three children, two sons at the University of Minnesota and a daughter who is a junior at Edina High School. He coached youth hockey for 12 years and today enjoys family activities and attending his daughter’s volleyball games and tournaments.

Dr. Jacklyn Mitchell

Dr. Mitchell graduated Magna Cum Laude from Valley City State University, where she dedicated four years to collegiate basketball while concurrently earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry.

She pursued her dental education at A. T. Still University – Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, demonstrating exceptional leadership in community outreach programs and international mission trips. Concurrently, she pursued a Master’s in Public Health alongside her Doctorate in Dental Medicine, achieving top honors upon graduation. Following her tenure in dental school, Dr. Mitchell cultivated her expertise through three years of practice as a general dentist in a private setting, refining her skills in restorative dentistry.

Dr. Mitchell completed her Endodontic Residency at the University of Florida, renowned for its comprehensive clinical training. During her residency, she conducted research focusing on the utilization of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in diagnosing and planning treatments for Invasive Cervical Resorption.

Dr. Mitchell has a profound comprehension of contemporary endodontic practices, encompassing CBCT utilization, endodontic microsurgery, re-treatment techniques, diagnosis of odontogenic/non-odontogenic pain and trauma. She has demonstrated her proficiency by successfully passing the rigorous written and oral components of the endodontic board certification process.

In her leisure time, Dr. Mitchell pursues her passion for travel and outdoor activities under the warmth of the sun with her cherished family.

Dr. Tyler Schuurmans

From Madison, South Dakota, Dr. Tyler Schuurmans grew up around his father’s small-town dental practice. After attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln he was awarded a United States Air Force (USAF) Health Professions Scholarship and earned his D.D.S. from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2009. Upon graduation, he completed an USAF-sponsored Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency (Offutt AFB – Omaha, Nebraska).

After completing six years of active duty service as a dentist in the USAF dental corps (Okinawa Japan; Albuquerque, New Mexico), he received his advanced specialty certificate in endodontics and a Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, subsequently publishing his research thesis on utilizing MRI for tooth crack/fracture detection in the Journal of Endodontics.

Following six years of private practice endodontics experience in Colorado Springs, Dr. Schuurmans and his family moved back home to the Twin Cities in 2023 to be closer to family and friends.

Dr. Schuurmans is an active specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Minnesota Association of Endodontists and the Minneapolis District Dental Society. He enjoys his kid’s many activities, comedy, photography, live music, outdoor fitness, hanging with his family and cheering on his beloved Nebraska cornhuskers, Gophers, Twins, and Vikings.

Dr. Schuurmans is thrilled to be a part of the United Endodontics team where he can provide the full scope of state-of-the-art endodontic specialty care for his patients.

Leadership Team

Dr. Yer Lor

Director of Operations

Dr. Lor serves as Operations Director at United Endodontics, where she leads clinical and administrative operations with a focus on optimizing workflows and enhancing the patient and staff experience.

With over 20 years of healthcare experience, Dr. Lor brings deep expertise in provider performance, process improvement, and building strong partnerships with referring offices. Her direct patient care background informs a practical, patient-centered approach to leadership.

Dr. Lor holds a BA in Communications from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from Concordia University Saint Paul, and a Doctorate from Concordia University Chicago, where her research focused on patient safety culture and leadership practices.

Sam Berry

Clinical Director

Sam Berry serves as Clinical Director and Lead Assistant at United Endodontics, where he oversees clinical training, assistant development, and day-to-day clinical operations.

Born in Monrovia, Liberia, Sam came to the United States fleeing the country's 14-year civil war and settled in Minnesota. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School, earned his dental assisting credentials from Herzing University, and his BA in Healthcare and Business Management from SMHU.

With over 20 years in dentistry, Sam brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, leadership, and empathy to his role, helping shape United Endodontics as a practice defined by excellence and heart.

David Burns

Director of Growth

David Burns serves as Director of Growth at United Endodontics, where he leads strategic expansion and partnerships across the organization.

With a proven track record of building and scaling high-performance teams, David focuses on aligning clinical excellence with sustainable business growth. His leadership is centered on creating long-term value for doctors, strengthening operational infrastructure, and identifying new opportunities that elevate the organization's presence across the communities it serves.
